Declarations of Jesus Christ

During the three years of His earthly ministry, Jesus made a number of declarations about Himself that were completely outrageous to the Jews surrounding Him. Perhaps most outrageous of all was His claim to be God in flesh, the promised Messiah.

Our belief in Jesus’ declarations is crucial to our walk with God. In Matthew 16, Jesus asked his disciples, “Who do people say I am?” He then asked, “Who do you say I am?” He was seeking to know if the disciples were being affected by the perceptions of the world or if they truly believed. He is asking us the same question today.

Interestingly, it is often not what Jesus said that the church of today argues about… it is what He didn’t say. We bicker over the appearance of our church building, what people wear to services, and even how the services are ordered and conducted.

The greatest, most powerful message that Jesus declared was love - His love for us and the need for us to extend that same love to one another. Listen to this powerful sermon for this and much more!
