The nation of Israel suffered for about 400 years as slaves to the nation of Egypt. When God sent Moses to deliver them, they must have been excited and relieved beyond imagination! But, shortly after they began their exodus from the land, they hit a huge obstacle. They found themselves trapped between the oncoming Egyptian army under the control of an angry Pharaoh who had changed his mind about releasing them and the insurmountable obstacle of the Red Sea.
We find ourselves in similar situations - trapped between a rock and a hard place. What do we do in situations like that? In that moment of Israel’s desperation, He told them “I will fight for you, you have only to be silent.” He would tell us the same thing! Be still and let God do what only He can do!
